The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show

We normally talk about the element of water, but today, it's all about the air. It's time for the annual Lake of the Ozarks Air Show, and your Lake of the Ozarks Culligan Man has all of the exciting details for you. This is a family fun event full of non-stop action in the sky, and quite a bit on the ground too.

Awesome Air Show Acts

Saturday, September 10, 2016, the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport will be home to this highly anticipated air show. There will be seating available, but blankets and lawn chairs are highly recommended. You will want to pick your spot, settle in, and get comfortable for a day full of non-stop action that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Here is some of the scheduled entertainment.

  • Ping Pong Ball Drop
One of the most popular events for the kids is the annual Ping Pong Ball Drop. The airfield will be covered in ping pong balls after they are dropped from an airplane overhead. The children then race to collect as many specially marked balls as they can to be returned for prizes.

  • Neal Darnell - Flash Fire Truck
This Flash Fire Jet Truck, which has a 12,000 horsepower jet engine and can reach speeds over 350 mph, will race a plane. 

  • Tora! Tora! Tora! Air Shows
An exciting re-creation of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. This is not only entertaining, but educational. Most of the hundreds of volunteers that it takes to accomplish this belong to the Commemorative Air Force. (CAF)

  • Kenny Carroll to Race Aerobatic Planes
Exactly as it sounds, the planes will be raced by Kenny in a Josh Franklin Motorsports prepared 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

  • Brian Correll Air Shows
Brian flies a Pitts S2S that has been strengthened and modified to make it capable of an extreme aerobatic routines. This show combines awesome performance with nostalgic biplane style. 

  • B-25J Mitchell World War II Bomber 
Get an up close and personal look at this unbelievable aircraft. This type of twin-engine bomber was standard equipment for the Allied Air Forces in World War II.

  • KC Flight Formation Team
The largest home grown civilian formation team out of Kansas City. 

  • Free Fall Express Skydivers
Members of the Ozarks Skydive Center from the Springfield, MO area will put on quite a show.

Flights for Veterans

In association with the air show and as a thank you for all of the sacrifices and accomplishments made by American veterans, the air show offers free flights for veterans in a B-25 aircraft. These take place on Friday, September 9. A random drawing from all applications received (due by August 12, 2016) will be done to fill the available spots. Priority is given to World War II and Korean veterans that have not participated in the ride in the last two years.

You are not allowed to bring outside coolers, food, or beverages with you, but there will be plenty of tasty treats at the air show. The following food and beverage sponsors will be among your choices.
  • Ozark Coca Cola: soda, water, Powerade (Blue), and Monster
  • Knights of Columbus: fish, burgers, & french fries
  • Kiwanis Club: popcorn & nachos
  • Child Advocacy Council: ice cream bars
  • Optimist Club: pulled pork & chips
  • Full Circle Motorcycle Assoc.: steak sandwich, pork chop sandwich, chips, & caramel apple slices
  • Angela's Lake Catering: chicken strips, BBQ chicken sandwich, corn on the cob, fried potatoes, & cookies

Culligan Lake of the Ozarks hopes you all have the chance to get out and enjoy this amazing annual event at the Lake. In case of bad weather, a rain date of Sunday, September 11 has been set.
