You Need a Culligan Water Softener!

What is a water softener? Why do I need one? Is it worth it? If you’ve asked yourself any of these questions, then this blog is for you! Culligan at the Lake of the Ozarks is here to tell you about all the benefits of having a water softener in your home, and why you should choose the best water provider at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you’re interested in having a water softener installed, call us at (573) 346-5221 or read on for the answers to all your questions!

What is a water softener?

Most of us get our water via a public water company or by a well on your property. These water sources typically contain minerals that make the water “hard.” A water softener is a device that removes certain minerals from your water to soften the hard water and reduces mineral buildup in your pipes. Your local Culligan water expert offers range of water softener products that fits your needs, wallet and for every size of household.

Why do I need one?

Water softeners do much more than just break down mineral buildup - having a quality water softener visibly affects several aspects of you and your family’s life. Though the signs of hard water are not always obvious, they can have detrimental effects on your home and your family. Hard water can leave spots on your glassware and make your glasses cloudy, even when they come straight out of the dishwasher.

Softer water helps soap scum and lime break down around your sink and shower drains and faucets. Not only does the buildup look bad, hard water is harmful for your pipes and fixtures. Softer water can extend the life of your appliances by stopping the effects of corrosion. Hard water can also clog your pores when washing your hands. Without a water softener, your skin can become dry and itchy and your hair can become brittle and damaged.

The same thing can happen to your clothes in the washer - Your laundry can become stiff and hard due to excessive calcium and magnesium in your water. By using a water softener, you will also be able to reduce your detergent use, saving some serious dollars. Now, you have the chance to provide you and your family the highest quality of life possible with a Culligan water softener. Why wouldn’t you want cleaner dishes, shinier hair and brighter clothes?

Is it worth it?

By removing these harsh minerals, you are not only saving you and your family daily hassles, but you’re also SAVING MONEY! The Culligan® High Efficiency Water Softener is the most efficient water softener on the market. With your brand new water softener, you’ll save more money on water, salt, and electricity with patented smart technology. What You Need To Know About Water Softeners

The Lake area is known for having hard water, and if you live in the area, you've probably seen or heard all about the disadvantages of living in an area with hard water. Luckily, there is a way around it! Your Lake of the Ozarks water experts can install a water softener in your home to help prevent the damage that hard water can do to your home. However, is installing a water softener that right choice for your home? Culligan® Lake of the Ozarks has all the information you need to figure out if installing a water softener is the right choice for you and your home.

Do I Have Hard Water?

Homes will either have hard or soft water. Unfortunately, at the Lake of the Ozarks, most homes have extremely hard water. The easiest way to identify whether you have hard water is by inspecting the damage it does to your dishes, glasses and utensils. Hard water is abrasive and causes stains, fogginess in glasses and spots on glasses. Hard water also produces scale, which can form on appliances, as well as boilers and plumbing systems. This can cause appliances to be less efficient and can clog plumbing to the extent where they become less effective at passing the water supply through.

Do I Need A Water Softener?

If your home has hard water, it may be wise to invest in a water softener. If you are seeing the signs of hard water in your home, the best way to prevent them is with a water softener system. While these issues may not be bad now, over time, they will gradually worsen and have adverse effects on your home. In addition, hard water is tough on our bodies. Hard water can clog your pores, which can leave your skin feeling dry and itchy. Plus, hard water can damage your hair and become unmanageable.

FAQs

Will my water taste salty?
No. A properly functioning water softener will never make your water taste salty. The small amount of sodium added to the water will never create a salty taste.

Will the softener remove all impurities?
A water softener is designed to remove hardness (calcium and magnesium) from the water. They can sometimes remove a limited amount of iron and manganese if you happen to have these problems as well. But if you are looking for great water for drinking and cooking, you should probably consider a reverse osmosis system for that purpose.

How long after installation will I have soft water?
Once a softener is installed, it will begin to soften your water immediately! Keep in mind if you have a tank-type hot water heater, it may take a few days to use up that hard water. Soon after that, you feel the full effects of soft water and the joys it brings to you and your family's life!

How often do I need to add salt?
Most good softeners today recharge based on how many gallons of water you use, and how hard your water is to start with.  However, because Culligan® has the most modern equipment available on the market today, most of our customers are adding salt once or twice a year, on average. It's amazing!

With a Culligan High Efficiency Water Softener, you'll have the world's most efficient water softener that saves up to you 46% on operating costs including energy, water, and cleaning products as well as soaps and detergents. It's Lake of the Ozarks preferred choice! If you are interested in learning more about water softeners or having one installed in your home, call your water experts at the Lake of the Ozarks at 573-719-1314.
