What is a water softener?
Most of us get our water via a public water company or by a well on your property. These water sources typically contain minerals that make the water “hard.” A water softener is a device that removes certain minerals from your water to soften the hard water and reduces mineral buildup in your pipes. Your local Culligan water expert offers range of water softener products that fits your needs, wallet and for every size of household.
Why do I need one?
Water softeners do much more than just break down mineral buildup - having a quality water softener visibly affects several aspects of you and your family’s life. Though the signs of hard water are not always obvious, they can have detrimental effects on your home and your family. Hard water can leave spots on your glassware and make your glasses cloudy, even when they come straight out of the dishwasher.
Softer water helps soap scum and lime break down around your sink and shower drains and faucets. Not only does the buildup look bad, hard water is harmful for your pipes and fixtures. Softer water can extend the life of your appliances by stopping the effects of corrosion. Hard water can also clog your pores when washing your hands. Without a water softener, your skin can become dry and itchy and your hair can become brittle and damaged.
The same thing can happen to your clothes in the washer - Your laundry can become stiff and hard due to excessive calcium and magnesium in your water. By using a water softener, you will also be able to reduce your detergent use, saving some serious dollars. Now, you have the chance to provide you and your family the highest quality of life possible with a Culligan water softener. Why wouldn’t you want cleaner dishes, shinier hair and brighter clothes?
