Here's how you can assemble your water challenge. Pick a time period you want your water challenge to last through and have employees track their water consumption. The goal is to get everyone to consume atleast 8 glasses of water per day. Offer prizes to the top 3 employees who get the closest to that goal.

Tip # 2
Set a good example and drink plently of water yourself.
Your employees are most likely looking up to you, so set a good example and try to drink 8 glasses of water a day yourself.

Tip # 3

What Type Of Water Should Be Used When Preparing Baby Formula?

Congratulations! You've just had a new baby and you have decided to feed your new bundle of joy baby formula. It's important to know that the chemicals and minerals that are often found in usual drinking water may not be right for your baby at such a young age. Culligan at the Lake of the Ozarks is here to give you a few guidelines to follow when trying to ensure your baby stays healthy while drinking formula.

Guidelines to Follow When Trying to Ensure Your Baby Stays Healthy While Drinking Formula

Decide on the Right Water to Use with Baby Formula

Before you decide on what type of water to mix into  your baby's formula, consult with your doctor. Also, if you are on a public water system, you may be able to with your local water utility company to see how much fluoride is in the water.

Water You Can Use

Bottled water (just for babies)

There is water  out there that is specifically designed to use with baby formula. Of Course, this type of water follows much stricter guidelines.

Tap water

Depending on what are you live in, tap water can be perfectly safe to use. Again, consult with your doctor first before deciding on the water to use with your baby's formula.

Bottled water

If you do choose to use bottled water, be sure you make sure there are no additives. Bottled water may not be sterile, so you may have to boil it, just like you'd boil tap water.

How to Add Water to Your Baby's Formula

When you add water to your baby's formula, be sure to follow the directions that are on the package of the formula. The basic rule of thumb for liquid-concentrate or powdered formulas can just be to:

1. Start with the cold tap water. Let the water run for about 2 minutes to get cold. (The colder the water is, the lower the amount of contaminants you may have in the water.)

2. Pour the cold water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for about a minute, then let the water cool down.

3. Once the water is cooled, you may use it to make the formula.

4. Mix the formula as directed on the package.

Culligan, Better Water. Pure and Simple.

Culligan® ClearLink PRO™ Drinking Water Accessory

Our newest reverse osmosis drinking water system accessory, ClearLink PRO™ works alongside our drinking water systems to provide cleaner, better-tasting drinking water from your existing faucet. ClearLink’s wireless technology eliminates the need to drill through countertops or sacrifice soap dispensers like traditional RO systems. There’s no need for additional faucets or fixtures to wash vegetables with your sprayer, fill pots for cooking, or simply enjoy a glass of filtered water. With ClearLink PRO™ it's all with the touch of a button. Your Culligan Man® has all the information on this new drinking water accessory so you can enjoy clean, filtered water at the Lake of the Ozarks.

ClearLink PRO™

ClearLink PRO™ is a first-to-market wireless control system that allows you to get Culligan® filtered water from your main faucet. Until now, installing an RO system required a dedicated faucet, which meant drilling a hole or losing a soap dispenser. Now you can use your existing faucet to wash vegetables with your sprayer, fill pots for cooking or just enjoying a glass of filtered water.

Features of Culligan® ClearLink PRO™

- Filter life gauge to ensure your system is producing the best quality of water.
- LED backlight display shows when filtered water is flowing.
- On trend design in multiple finishes to complement today's kitchen decor.
- The alert indicator illuminates when the filter, RO membrane, or batteries need to be replaced.

How It Works

ClearLink PRO™ utilizes wireless technology to switch the main faucet between unfiltered and filtered water at the touch of a button. The ClearLink PRO™ control box is installed on the main water line and connected to the Culligan® water filter. For filtered water, turn on the cold water, push the ClearLink PRO™ button and in a few seconds, you have RO water at the main faucet. When you're done, simply turn off the water and the system will automatically divert back to unfiltered water ensuring you don't waste filtered water.

Benefits of ClearLink PRO™

- Use your existing faucet eliminating the need to drill a hole.
- Wireless technology allows you to place the ClearLink PRO™ button virtually anywhere.
- Integrated filter life indicator takes the guesswork out of when to replace filters.
- Water quality monitor ensures you have the best quality of water at all times.

Winter Hydration - What to Know!

While it's true, an ice-cold glass of water tastes especially delicious on a hot summer day, keep in mind that drinking the same amount of water in the winter is just as important. Staying hydrated during the winter months is crucial if you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Culligan Lake of the Ozarks helps make accessing fresh, better-tasting water as simple as the touch of a button. There are many reasons to increase your daily water intake, but if you have trouble drinking enough water in the winter, we have some tips. Learn more about staying hydrated this time of year!

Benefits of proper hydration during winter:
  • Drinking water can give your immune system a boost and help prevent you from getting sick during peak cold and flu season.
  • Drinking water can increase your metabolism and help you feel full, longer. This can help ward off unwanted extra body weight when outdoor activity is limited.
  • Water helps regulate body temperature and is essential to the function of cells, tissues and organs.
  • Drinking water keeps you hydrated internally and can help keep your skin soft and in optimum health.
  • Try a warm beverage
    • Try warming up with a nice cup of hot green tea, or even hot water with lemon. These two hot beverages will keep you cozy on a chilly winter's day.
  • Think outside the cup
    • Several fruits and vegetables have a high water content that can help you reach your daily intake goals. Produce like, broccoli, strawberries and celery are all great sources of water.
  • Do soup for supper

Understanding Common Water Contaminants

It's not difficult to know you have a water problem if what gushes out of your tap is discolored, smelly or leaves behind a residue, however, harmful contaminants, like arsenic and lead, can go undetected by the senses. Your leading water expert at Culligan Lake of the Ozarks has a home water system for any problem your home's water may have. Learn more about common water contaminants and how a local licensed water technician can test your water, detect contaminants, and identify a solution to target and treat your water.

Iron in Water

If your water is contaminated by dissolved iron, you may notice the water's "hardness." Not only can hard water leave your skin feeling rough and dry, it may actually taste odd - slightly metallic. You might also notice rust-colored stains on fixtures and in sinks, or scale buildup in plumbing. Beyond unpleasant side effects, iron in water can cause real damage throughout your home. Hard water can impact plumbing efficiency, causing problems in pipes and fixtures that can be costly to repair. It can also shorten the lifespan of the major appliances in your home. Appliances that use hard water lose efficiency over time due to limescale buildup and mineral deposits that slow them down.

Common Indicators of Iron

  • Reddish or red-brown stains on your laundry, plumbing fixtures and cooking utensils
  • Yellow or orange-colored water
  • Metallic taste to your water
  • Dry or itchy skin and dull hair

Culligan Solution

If you have a high concentration of iron in your water Culligan Lake of the Ozarks offers a variety of water softeners and filters designed to treat the problems caused by iron in water. Our High Efficiency Water Softener can transform your home's water from the shower to your laundry room and reduce the problems associated with hard water.

Lead in Water

Detecting lead in water is extremely difficult. Generally invisible, odorless and tasteless, levels of lead concentration in drinking water and tap systems can often pass unnoticed. Aging pipes and plumbing infrastructure is the most common way drinking water is exposed to lead and homes built prior to 1986 are more likely to have plumbing components containing lead. The best way to find out if lead is contaminating your water source is to have it tested by your local Culligan Man.

Culligan Solution

After a test has been conducted and if it comes back with any levels of lead, your Culligan Man will be ready to recommend the best filtration solution to remove the lead in your water, whether it's an under sink, point-of-use filtration system, or a whole home water filter.

Sulfur in Water

When the presence of sulfur in your water becomes problematic, it is generally due to the level of dissolved hydrogen sulfide content or the presence of sulfur bacteria. Sulfur in your water is unpleasant in smell and can also create slime that results in the growth of other bacteria.

Common Indicators of Sulfur

  • Unpleasant rotten-egg smell
  • Odor that's worse or more obvious from hot water sources
  • Unpleasant taste

Culligan Solution

The most common and effective treatment for water with varying levels of sulfur in your home is through a water filter. Culligan offers a variety of high efficiency water filters that can remove the effects of sulfur economically and with minimal maintenance.

Total Dissolved Solids in Water

Total dissolved solids most commonly refer to the levels of dissolved ions, like calcium, lead, and iron, in your water. Unnatural levels of total dissolved solids can create problems around the house and potentially impact your health. From bad tasting water to plumbing problems, detecting and eliminating excess total dissolved solids is necessary to improve the quality of your home's water.

Common Indicators of Total Dissolved Solids

  • Cloudy water appearance
  • Salty, bitter or metallic taste
  • Corroded pipes or fixtures
  • Shorter appliance lifespan

Culligan Solution

An effective way to remove Total Dissolved Solids and their negative effects from water is with filtration or reverse osmosis. Culligan Lake of the Ozarks can recommend filtration solutions to match your needs.

As the leading water expert in the Lake of the Ozarks area, Culligan Lake of the Ozarks has a home water system for any problem. We will work with you to find a solution that is customized to your needs and budget. Don't let problems such as hard water or high iron content damage your home's water quality or force you to fork over more money for your water bill, cleaning expenses and maintenance costs.  Clean, better-tasting water is just a call away!

7 Reasons To Drink More Water During The Holidays

As your family and friends gather to celebrate the holidays, you typically offer something to quench their thirst. Water often takes a backseat to cold brews and sweet beverages, but science backs it - those extra trips to the faucet, or Culligan water dispenser, can prevent dehydration that can interfere with brain function and mood. Culligan Lake of the Ozarks wants to help you stay happily hydrated during the holidays with these creative reasons to keep your glass full of filtered, better-tasting water.

1. Relieve Fatigue

Feeling exhausted after cooking, cleaning, entertaining and running around after children? The holidays are a wonderful time of the year but for many, inviting friends and family into your home can leave you dragging in the evening, or even by mid-day. Fatigue is one of the first signs of dehydration and even a small drop in your body's water levels can hurt you. The Institute of Medicine recommends approximately 2 to 3 liters of water per day.

2. Improve Mood

If your household is like so many others around the holidays, there are lots of personalities, demanding lots of attention. You may find yourself overwhelmed and feeling a bit crabby. If so, take time to make more stops at the water cooler. Even mild dehydration can negatively affect your mood and ability to think - and you need to be your best, especially during the holidays!

3. Treat A Headache

If a dull ache creeps up in your head this holiday, the first thing that you can do to get some relief is drink plenty of water. To prevent a headache, drink filtered Culligan water frequently. Dehydration has been found to play a major role in the development of headaches, especially migraines.

4. Help In Digestion

Nearly 30 percent of indigestion is a result of dehydration. The body requires copious amounts of water to digest an average meal, and let's be honest, meals around the holidays tend to be a little larger than the average day.

5. Flush Toxins

Water is an excellent detoxifier. If you're serving several beverage options at your holiday event, make water one of them! Drinking water works as a simple yet effective way to flush toxins from your body.

6. Fluid Replenishment

Water is an efficient replacement for lost fluids. Coffee, tea, cola, and alcoholic beverages have a diuretic effect that can actually impede your body from absorbing water. Avoid a negative water balance and drink plenty of water.

7. Aids In Weight Loss

Did you sample the cookies a few too many times or over indulge on the delicious dishes found on the holiday menu? If you need to shed some extra weight after the holidays, water can support you! When you drink water, it fills your stomach and reduces the tendency to eat more, so have a glass before your meal. Substitute water for high-calorie drinks like sodas.

With all of the festivities surrounding the holidays, it can be easy to forget to drink the appropriate amount of water. With benefits like these, we know you'll want to contact Culligan Lake of the Ozarks and schedule an install for your own Culligan bottled water dispenser or bottle-free water cooler. Don't forget, as you're busy enjoying this holiday season, we'll bring the water to you! Your friends, family, and especially, your health will thank you! 8 Strategies To Maintain Proper Hydration

Keeping hydrated is extremely important for making sure your body performs at its best both mentally and physically. You should drink enough water to replenish what your body loses naturally on a daily basis.

Dehydration can result in fatigue, loss of concentration, and headaches. Our water company at the Lake of the Ozarks can help you to avoid this. It can be difficult for some people to make themselves drink enough water, but your Culligan Man at the Lake of the Ozarks has a few tips to help you out.

1. Drink before you get thirsty.

Once your body feels thirsty, that means you are already on your way to dehydration. Make drinking water a habit so that you never get to that point.

2. Drink before, during, and after exercising.

The best way to avoid dehydration while you are exercising or doing any other type of strenuous activity is to fully hydrate yourself before you begin. Also drink plenty of water periodically during the activity, and when it is over. The same goes for being outside on a very hot day. If you have been sweating excessively, it's a good idea to supplement your water with a sports drink containing electrolytes.

3. Eat hydrating foods.

Foods that have a high water content can also aid in keeping you hydrated. Some of these include watermelon, cantaloupe, grapefruit, cucumbers, grapes, tomatoes, soups, stews, and yogurts.

4. Flavor your water.

A wonderful way to entice your taste buds into consuming more water is to infuse it with your favorite flavors. Adding lemon, lime, cucumber slices, or even mint to a pitcher of water in the refrigerator will make it taste delicious, and there will always be a nice treat waiting for you when you need something to drink.

5. Keep track of your water intake.

You can purchase a water bottle that has ounce markings on the side so that you see exactly how much water you are drinking. Some even have a way for you to keep track when you drink multiple bottles in the same day. Another option is to fill a gallon container every morning and see how much you can finish before you go to bed.

6. Drink water with every meal.

Get in the habit of having a glass of water in addition to any other beverages at every meal. If you drink an entire glass of water before the meal, this has been proven to cut down on the amount of calories you eat because your stomach already feels a bit full.

7. Start your morning with a glass of water.

Rehydrating first thing in the morning is refreshing and a great pick-me-up for your body to start the day. Plus, you're already on your way to fulfilling the recommended 8 glasses a day before you even sit down to breakfast.

8. Carry a water bottle with you at all times.

Always having a water bottle easily within reach is a great way to motivate yourself to stay hydrated. The more convenient you make it for yourself, the easier it will be.

Culligan Lake of the Ozarks makes it easy for you to have access to the best drinking water available. We offer a wonderful variety of home water solutions, including drinking water systems and water filtration systems. You can even order bottled water online to be delivered to your home for as little as $24.95 a month. That includes the use of one of our water cooler dispensers for free. Let us help to keep you hydrated so that you can look and feel your very best.

Why Choose Culligan?

When it comes to water quality at the Lake of the Ozarks, you want to be confident that you're choosing the company best equipped to meet - and exceed - your needs. Culligan Lake of the Ozarks has been serving the Lake Area for over forty years, and we are proud to provide safe, clean, refreshing drinking water and effective, affordable home water systems to our valued customers.

If you are currently shopping for a drinking water company to care for your needs, here are a few reasons why we hope you'll consider your Culligan Man at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Good "Old-Fashioned" Customer Service
Owner Dave Crane and our staff still believe in good "old-fashioned" customer service. Our customers are our number one priority - always. After installation, technicians regularly monitor the water and perform maintenance to make sure that the Culligan systems continue to do the job. Technical advice and professional service are always close at hand. If we make a mistake for any reason, we promise to own up to it. We always have adequate insurance to cover any associated costs, and we will take immediate steps to accommodate your needs.

You Get What You Pay For (In The Best Possible Way)
There are three types of businesses in the water treatment industry: those that use high-pressure sales tactics (and have high prices to go with it), those with low-pressure sales (and accompanying low prices), and those who fall in the middle. Culligan Lake of the Ozarks strives to maintain a balance in the middle. Here's why:
  • The prices offered by high-pressure sales companies are often exorbitant. The reason for this is simple; their marketing costs are so high that they must charge more for their products in order to make a profit. While the logic is easy to understand, it often puts the customer in an unnecessarily uncomfortable and expensive situation.
  • The lowest prices on the market are often offered by low-pressure sales companies. These are typically the ones with 1-5 employees, and may be operated by someone you knew previously as your plumber or builder. The problem with these companies is that they often do not have adequate insurance to cover any mistakes they made, and they may not be able to withstand the market fluctuations that every industry experiences at some point. They may be great to buy from today, but they may not be around to help you in a few years when your systems are in need of maintenance.

You get what you pay for when you use your local Culligan Man; we will never try to sell you a service that you don't need, and most of our products are backed up by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Culligan has been in business for over 80 years nationally and over 40 years locally. Thanks to this established presence, you can be confident that we will be here to continue to serve your needs for years to come.

The Most Trusted Name In The Water Quality Business
While we may not be the only water treatment company at the Lake of the Ozarks, we are proud (and humbled) to be the most recognized name in our industry. On a national level, Culligan touts 90% market recognition and is one of the top 300 most recognizable names in all of marketing (alongside other big names like Coca-Cola, Nike, and Apple).

Contact Your Culligan Man For All Your Water-Related Needs!

We also offer salt and delivery services so you don't have to worry about any of the heavy-lifting that sometimes comes with having a water softener in your home.

Culligan® Water Filtration Systems
Nothing transforms a home like a Culligan Whole House Water Filtration System. Our water filters are designed to take on every one of your home water's toughest challenges, from unpleasant smells to rust stains and everything in between. When it comes time for your filters to receive periodic maintenance, they will automatically send notice to your Lake of the Ozarks Culligan Man so you never have to worry.

Water Delivery Services
Clean drinking water is almost as essential as the air we breathe. If you do not wish to install stationary water equipment in your home but are still interested in improving the quality of your water, your Culligan Man at the Lake of the Ozarks offers a convenient delivery service where we will bring a 5-gallon bottle of water to your home (or office) on a consistent basis. Our unique water coolers allow you to pour water that is hot or cold, whatever best fits your needs.
